Angus will share how he changed paths from a DJ to the founder of a neuroscientifically formulated drink and food-technology company. He has a great story and a lot of know-how when it comes to building a food-tech business, including R&D, securing IP in various forms, and the process of creating something that’s unique and valuable. During this journey, he spent 5 years at the Food Bowl as a business manager so he’s well versed when it comes to starting and growing a food-tech business.

👉Vaughan Rowsell, Founder of Vend, OMGTech! and Trustee of the Hi-Tech Trust
Vaughan founded Vend, a point of sale software company, in 2010, during the GFC. It quickly grew to be NZ’s fastest growing startup and is now sailing towards a $1b valuation.
He’s a self-described weirdo with an admirable approach to building companies, growing New Zealand and getting the most out of life. He’s the founder of OMGTech!, a Trustee of the Hi-Tech Trust and he does one impossible challenge per year, in addition to being the Head of Product at Vend AND maintaining a New Zealand famous handlebar mustache.
We’re excited to hear the story of how Vend started out and to pick Vaughan’s brain on how he makes the most of his existence.
