Why your ability to coordinate action is important

To be an effective leader, you must be able to organise people to achieve business outcomes. This means making and managing requests so work gets delivered as intended.

This skill is useful at all levels of business development, from starting out, to outsourcing work and eventually to building and managing a team. It is useful for business owners, and for anyone who is in a leadership position or has ambitions to become a leader within an organisation.

If you struggle to translate what you want into clear requests and tasks and projects are not delivered as intended, this is the workshop for you. You will learn how to be clear and intentional with your requests, how to negotiate outcomes and deadlines, and how to address factors that may influence the outcome upfront so expectations are set and all parties are on the same page.

This Webinar Series is delivered by, Ian Lees, Leadership Coach and Director of Optimal Future, in partnership with Mum's Garage.

"This is the missing piece in productivity improvement for a lot of businesss leaders. When people think about productivity, they think about their own output. This is important when it's just you in the business. But if you want to scale up productively, you must learn how to effectively direct other people. This programme will teach you that." - Natalie Robinson

What participants have said:

"Absolutely loved the course, was incredibly insightful, from helpful anecdotes to valuable frameworks, I left with a far deeper appreciation for the power of effective communication. Shortly after the course and even during it, I started noticing differences in the way that I was communicating, 'closing more loops' was utterly transformative for me.

You'll learn more about loops if you do the course, it's a doozy, but gosh so good. Finding I'm able to switch off better, have fewer balls in the air, and be able to do my work more thoughtfully, thoroughly and gracefully.

Thanks again Mums Garage for your continued support on my entrepreneurial journey." - Kiran Patel

"As a result of this course, I realised that I was sometimes indirect with my communication to team members and customers. This slowed things down, created confusion and didn't produce the outcomes I really wanted. I realised that being indirect is like being hesitant. People fill the gaps with assumptions, which aren't always right. I learnt this about myself through the course and was able to turn it around quite quickly using the techniques Ian shared" - Richie

By Natalie Robinson | July 13, 2020

When we think about business development, the focus tends to be on specific business functions – product development, sales, marketing, finance, planning and strategy.
