Startup Legals Workshop

Know what you need to do to protect your business, and when you need to do it.

 

This Startup Legals Workshop is designed to help  founders understand the legal considerations when starting and growing a company.

Date: 9am - 12pm, Wednesday 15th November
Location: 19 Ruru Street, Eden Terrace
Structure: 3 hour workshop delivered by Hudson Gavin Martin
Audience: Early stage companies

What does the workshop cover?

 

  1. Company set-up:  we will discuss ownership and management structures, sweat equity, constitutions and shareholders’ agreements.
  2. IP:  we will summarise different types of IP (e.g. copyright, trade marks and confidential information) and what a company needs to think about in terms of protecting its IP (e.g. securing ownership of IP created by founders, contractors and employees)
  3. Raising money: we will discuss getting your house in order to facilitate investment and a summary of the rules applying to raising money in NZ.

If your a founder of a technology company or an early stage business, this workshops is suitable for you.

If you're unsure of the legal requirements when it comes to company set up, protecting your assets (IP) or raising money, you'll leave the workshop with a lot more certainty around these topics.

This is also a great opportunity to ask questions specific to your circumstances.

It doesn't matter if you're in the early stages and haven't launched anything yet, as long as you are committed to building your business. In fact, this is probably good position to be in because this workshop will make sure you set yourself up right, from the beginning.
